Fernan Vargas is a certified Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics Instructor and the founder of Raven Tactical International, established in 2003. The company was created to provide specialized defensive tactics training for security and law enforcement professionals.
Mr. Vargas holds the designation of Violence Prevention Specialist from the National Association of Safety Professionals and is certified as a safety coordinator by the state of Illinois. He has a rich history of community service, having served as a Safety Patrol Leader and Trainer for the Chicago Chapter of the Guardian Angels Safety Patrol, and as the founder of the official Guardian Angels Defensive Tactics System.
With his extensive experience, Mr. Vargas holds numerous instructor credentials in various defensive tactics curriculums and has trained law enforcement officers across local, state, and federal levels. His training has also extended to security officers, military personnel, and private citizens, both in the United States and internationally, with clients in countries such as Canada, Italy, and Spain. Mr. Vargas has developed several training programs approved by various state Police Officer Training and Standards Boards and has been adopted by organizations such as the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. His programs have received formal endorsements from esteemed institutions, including the Fraternal Order of Law Enforcement and the International Academy of Executive Protection Agents.
Mr. Vargas is a multi time presenter at the prestigious International Law Enforcement Educators & Trainers Association (ILEETA) International Conference, of which he is a charter member. Mr. Vargas is the current director of both Raven Tactical International and Pro-Systems Defensive Tactics, Mr. Vargas also serves as the International Director of the Police Tactics Instructors of America and the United States Director of the World Police Martial Arts Federation (also known as the World Kyongchal Moosul Muhando Federation) and the KionggiDo Police and Military Martial Arts Association.
